Dr. Colin Christie, OD
Dr. Christie was born and raised on the southside of Indianapolis, where he still resides today. He bought Shimp Optical in 2015, and is excited to carry on the tradition of specialty optical the Shimp family has built over the years while adapting the practice to a modern medical optometry facility. Dr. Christie’s family has been providing health care for four generations on the southside of Indianapolis. His great grandfather owned and operated a pharmacy for 35 years just about 2 blocks south of the current location of Indianapolis Vision Care. He is excited to be involved in the historic south side community.
Colin and his wife, Annie, have three children named Will, Leah and Claire. The family currently resides very near Christie Vision Care. Dr. Christie enjoys playing golf, watching Butler Bulldogs basketball, as well as spending much of his free time with family and friends.
Colin attended Perry Meridian High School where he graduated in the class of 2000. He then attended Butler University and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Colin then attended the School of Optometry at Indiana University where he graduated in May of 2009.
Carolyn Hunter – Optician
Carolyn has been in the optical field since 2007. She is an expert in all the latest lens technology and has the talent to find the perfect pair of glasses for every patient. She also stays current with all of the new fashion-forward trends. Carolyn takes pride in providing great customer service to all of our patients.
She moved to Indiana in 1999 and has lived on the southside of Indianapolis for over 20 years. She is married to Brent and has 2 daughters, Marissa and Britney, and 2 sons, Noah and Lucas. She also has 3 grandsons, Adrian, Landry and Kyler. Spending time with her family and walking her dog are some of her favorite things to do in her leisure time.
Angie Stickford – Technician
Angie has been in the medical field for over 20 years and 6 of those have been in Optometry. She has an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Records degree. She states that her ability to help our patients hands on is what makes her job enjoyable.
She lives with her husband of 29 years along with their 3 fur babies. They enjoy camping, hiking and playing euchre.
Michelle Williams – Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Michelle has been in the optical industry for over 10 years and a part of the CVC team for almost a year. She loves meeting new and repeat patients year after year. She always wants our patients to feel welcome and comfortable while they are in our care.
She has always lived on the southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Perry Meridian High School. She is married to her husband, Todd. Together they have 5 kids, 4 grandchildren and 2 dogs. In her free time she loves spending time with family and friends. Michelle and Todd both enjoy traveling, being outdoors and working on home improvement and landscaping projects.
